As part of the Zehnder Care Premium maintenance package, replacement parts are free of charge for at least 10 years after the production date of the unit if they need to be replaced during a service visit by our technicians outside the warranty period of your Zehnder indoor ventilation system.

General information

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure a healthy and comfortable indoor climate. A well-maintained ventilation system works more efficiently, delivers cleaner air, prevents breakdowns, and extends the lifespan of your unit. During a professional service visit, our certified technicians check the system’s operation, clean key components, inspect the air distribution, and replace filters if necessary. In short, regular maintenance helps your system perform at its best and avoids unexpected issues.

Maintenance of your heat recovery unit includes:

  • Assessment of the unit's performance
  • Inspection and cleaning of the heat exchanger
  • Cleaning of motors and sensors
  • Cleaning of the preheater
  • Software updates (if applicable)
  • Cleaning of valves (in the case of a Comfort & Premium contract)

Maintenance of other units connected to the ventilation unit is excluded from the maintenance service. Accessories are also not covered by the contract, nor is maintenance of an additional ComfoCool or ComfoClime*.

With Zehnder maintenance packages, this maintenance is scheduled every one to two years, so you don't have to worry about it.

What distinguishes professional maintenance? Professional maintenance by a certified Zehnder ventilation expert includes all inspections, tests and cleaning work on the Zehnder ventilation system. The main components of professional maintenance are checking the operation of the unit, checking the distribution system (air distribution), cleaning the unit and checking the operation of the filters, including replacement. A more specific insight into the maintenance components is provided by the list of services in the maintenance contract, which you can view before signing up for a Zehnder maintenance package.
 

After every professional service carried out by a Zehnder ventilation expert, you will receive a Zehnder quality certificate.

The Zehnder quality certificate consists of two parts and confirms that your Zehnder ventilation system has been professionally serviced.

Proof that professional maintenance has been carried out (every one to two years after commissioning) is a prerequisite for the warranty.

This includes:

  • A maintenance sticker on your device with the date of the last maintenance
  • A maintenance report, which you will receive by email after maintenance

Updating the device's software (if applicable) as part of professional maintenance keeps your ventilation system up to date. With the Zehnder Care maintenance package, you also benefit from further technological developments in your system.

Do you know what to look out for in your ventilation system? When you sign up for a Zehnder maintenance package, you benefit from the expertise of our ventilation specialists. Take the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the operation and maintenance of your ventilation system.

As part of your maintenance contract, our technicians inspect, clean, and, when necessary, replace essential components such as filters, heat exchangers, motors, sensors, and — in some packages — valves or ducts. Specific service parts can be found on the Zehnder service parts overview page. Accessories or additional units are usually not included in the contract unless explicitly stated.

Depending on your selected service package, Zehnder offers extended warranty coverage for certain parts and repairs. Under these terms, replacement parts are available free of charge or at reduced cost for at least ten years after the product’s production date. The extended warranty applies only if maintenance has been carried out in accordance with the service agreement and you have a valid running Zehnder Care Premium contract with us.

If applicable, your maintenance visit also includes a software update for your ventilation unit. This ensures your system is equipped with the latest technical improvements, enhanced functionality, and optimized performance. Keeping your software up to date helps your system stay reliable and efficient over time.

The maintenance contract only applies to the heat recovery unit manufactured by Zehnder. An additional maintenance contract can be taken out for extras such as ComfoCool and ComfoClime. If you also require maintenance, please indicate this in your enquiry. In this case, we will send you a customised quote.

The packages differ in terms of coverage, discounts on parts, administration and travel costs, additional filters and the level of support. Premium offers the most benefits, such as comprehensive breakdown cover and free replacement parts.

An agreement can only be reached if:
 

  • The heat recovery unit is manufactured by Zehnder;
  • The unit has been installed in accordance with the applicable product regulations;
  • The unit is fully adjusted and functioning properly;

If the unit is more than 4 years old at the time the maintenance contract is concluded, Zehnder reserves the right to charge a one-off additional fee for the first maintenance visit if the situation so requires, for example because the unit is excessively dirty.

If the unit has defects at the time the contract is concluded, repair costs are also excluded from the contract. These will be charged in addition to the maintenance costs.

A premium contract has a term of at least 10 years from the date of establishment. If your unit is more than 10 years old, Zehnder reserves the right to propose a different type of maintenance contract with the applicable prices, terms and benefits.
