A pioneering design, the Zehnder Nestsystems radiant conditioning solution comprises a network of panels which are operated by a sophisticated control system. Possessing all the benefits of traditional radiant systems Zehnder Nestsystems has dual heating and cooling functionality, rapid response times, exceptional controllability and superior energy efficiency. The key difference is that instead of being independent units which are fitted into the ceiling structure, the Zehnder radiant heating and cooling element is incorporated into a specially designed plasterboard panel which effectively replaces a standard panel and enables it to be fitted as part of the general construction of the building.
This unique functionality means that the Zehnder panels can be installed on the ceiling or wall of residential and commercial buildings. Quick and easy to set-up the panels come with Zehnder quick-fit connections for a trouble free installation, and once fitted the radiant surface is finished in exactly the same way as standard plasterboard. This makes them ideal for both new build and refurbishment projects. Offering excellent flexibility in design the panels ensure no reduction in living or furnishing space, and because they form part of the building structure, installation time and costs are greatly reduced.
Unrivalled when it comes to operational efficiency, the Zehnder Nestsystems can achieve energy savings of between 30-50% on standard radiant systems and alternative technologies such as fan coil units. By utilising the princple of radiant heating and cooling the panels allow a higher percieved air temperature in the winter and a lower perceived air temperature in the summer to reduce overall energy consumption. Moreover, suitable for low temperature systems (up to 60°C), the Zehnder Nestsystems offer a free choice of energy source as it is ideal for use with renewable technolgies i.e. heat pumps, condensing boiler technology, biomass or waste process heat. What’s more all heat outputs are certified in accordance with standards EN 14037 for heating and EN 14240 for cooling.
In addition, the sophisticated design also eliminates the disadvantages typically associated with alternative systems by ensuring a high degree of uniformity and homogeneity in temperature and humidity, a very quiet operating noise, and no unpleasant draughts or associated distribution of dust.
Another key contributor to the overall energy efficiency of the Zehnder Nestsystems is the optional electronic control system. Specifically designed to manage radiant conditioning systems the sophisticated software caters for every application and requirement to optimise performance.
Giving you continuous control over the dew point, the control system regulates the water delivery temperature on the basis of the readings, so the surface temperature of the radiant system remains above the critical level where condensation will form. The control can be used to coordinate, monitor and manage a whole range of HVAC devices within the system and can be accessed using a local network, or from a remote station with an internet connection via modem.
